ISRO's History and Accomplishments

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is the space agency of the Government of India, headquartered in Bengaluru. It was founded in 1969, following the Indian Space Research Organisation Act of 1969.

ISRO's primary objective is to develop space technology and its application to various national tasks. It conducts space-based research, develops and launches satellites, and provides satellite-based services to the country. Some of ISRO's major achievements include the successful launch of Chandrayaan-1, India's first lunar mission, and the Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan), which made India the first nation to reach Mars in its first attempt.

ISRO is also known for its cost-effective approach to space exploration. It has a reputation for successfully completing missions at a fraction of the cost of similar missions undertaken by other space agencies.

In recent years, ISRO has been actively involved in a number of international collaborations, including with the European Space Agency, NASA, and the Russian Federal Space Agency.
